Narrative Writing Rubric

The Assessment will begin the week of October 11 and is due the following week.

This is your checklist for the Writing Assessment in Narrative Writing:

• Have a main idea and stay on that topic
• What is the setting and who are the most important characters?
• Give examples such as facts or little stories that explain
• Give your characters a purpose, follow the plot
• Have a beginning, middle and ending
• Use a logical sequence to take your reader through the story
• Use a variety of transitions throughout the story
• Use vivid verbs and strong adjectives
• Use figurative speech
• Use sensory details
• Hold onto the audience's attention.
